ROLE AT BRIGHTON NOISE:
Writer, interviewer, think tank.
FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT LIVING IN BRIGHTON:
The gig scene is awesome, as is the night life in general. I also like being able to be this close to London without actually having to live there.
FAVOURITE LOCAL VENUE:
I usually go wherever the music (and cider) takes me, but The Haunt, Sticky Mike’s and Blind Tiger are some of my favourites.
BEST PRE-GIG DRINKING HOLE:
The Druids Arms, as it’s my faithful local. Although you can often find me stumbling out of many Brighton beer establishments.
FIRST EVER GIG:
Embarrassingly I think it was when I went to see Justin Timberlake with my Mum, circa 2000! My first ‘proper’ gig was in France when I went to see Korn (slightly more reputable).
BEST RECENT GIG:
I’ve been to so many amazing gigs this year, seeing the Foo Fighters at Milton Keynes bowl was pretty damn good. I think I’ve been to over a hundred gigs in 2012 though so it’s a little bit difficult to choose!
3 TOP BANDS/MUSICIANS:
This question isn’t fair!!
CURRENTLY LISTENING TO:
Justice, Sebastian, Don Caballero, Zombie Zombie, Jaga Jazzist, Rolo Tomassi, Death from Above 1979, Russian Circles, Heart of a Coward, You Slut!, Zen Death Squad, Three Trapped Tigers….I could go on…
RECOMMENDED BRIGHTON BANDS:
The Physics House Band, A Hundred Black Kites, thedealwasforthediamond, Pink Narcissus, Sice, Us Baby Bear Bones, Kate Williams, Written in Waters, and my band Howl’s Moving Disco. There are definitely more than this, but my memory doesn’t serve me well.
