FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT LIVING IN BRIGHTON
Definitely the people I’ve met whilst living here. The beach is a key factor (in the summer) and obviously the music scene.
FAVOURITE LOCAL VENUE
I mostly end up finding myself at The Haunt, they generally put on what I like, although I’ve been warming to Sticky Mike’s and The Green Door Store recently. Concorde II is great for bigger gigs though.
BEST PRE-GIG DRINKING HOLE
Never been much of a pre-drinker for gigs, but a drink or two at home usually does the trick if I’m in the mood. Either that or Wetherspoons…
FIRST EVER GIG
I saw Taking Back Sunday in 2006, I must have been about 14 and my dad accompanied a few of my mates and I as he’s such a lovely chap. While we were waiting in the queue a drunken stranger came over, put his arm around me and claimed that we were cousins. Good times.
BEST RECENT GIG
Such a difficult question, it’s a struggle between Anberlin, A Lot Like Birds and Anais Mitchell. I like names starting with the letter ‘A’ apparently.
3 TOP BANDS/MUSICIANS
The most difficult question anyone could ever ask. Just for the sake of this, here are three bands that I love. Hop Along, Dead Letter Circus and Relient K
RECOMMENDED BRIGHTON BANDS
The Xcerts, Garden Heart, Unbeliever, Tyrannosaurus Dead, Three Summers Strong, Last Heir, Tiny Dragons, Machete, Beth Morris… I would say TesseracT, but only the lead singer lives in Brighton..
