Lower Slaughter release 'Hands' EP

19/04/2016 By James McLarnon

Once upon a time there was a live video

Swiftly followed by a raging tune called ‘Hands.’

Followed by tips a plenty, including ours and a touring schedule that featured shows with Sealings, Hey Colussus, Terminal Cheesecake, GNOD and Joanna Grusome. But not PiL, no- they were deemed ‘too heavy to support PiL.’

Then as noise –rockers Lower Slaughter seemed poised to release their hotly anticipated debut EP, everything went uncharacteristically quiet.

We thought the worst but news filtered through to us earlier this year that the reason behind the delay was that vocal shredder Max Levy (ex-King of Cats) left to pursue other musical projects. The band continues with new member Sinead Young and impressed with their recently shared new track ‘Tied Down.’

So what became of that EP? Well, the consistently excellent Cupboard Music has picked it up and are releasing it today. It Consists of four awesome live staples committed to tape at the end of 2014 and is the only recorded document of this period of the band’s existence. Strictly limited to only 100 copies.

Be warned it’s a spiky devil.
